The Humane Society of Missouri and Longmeadow Rescue Ranch have the perfect pet for those who think a dog or cat isn’t the right fit – super cute critters! These little guys and gals are a great addition to any home, especially those with size limitations or allergy concerns with other animals.
Here are a few examples of the fun pets the Humane Society of Missouri and Longmeadow Rescue Ranch have to offer:
- Bird’s the Word – January is National Adopt a Rescued Bird month, and Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is celebrating by lowering the adoption fee for ducks to just $5! Other adoptable birds include rescued chickens and even geese.
- Heavenly Hamsters – If a talkative pet isn’t quite right, hamsters are a compact and quiet option. They don’t need much: a small habitat with space to explore and climb, a water bottle and available food (which can be less expensive than food for other pets). Hamsters are also great for teaching children how to care for a little furry friend.
- Guinea Pigs Galore – Guinea pigs are also easy to please and can be a sociable companion to play with and snuggle. They require a roomy cage with clean bedding, a water bottle, food and a little attention to keep them happy and healthy. And they come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes!
- Funny Bunnies – Rabbits also come in a variety of colors and sizes, with unique personalities that set them apart from other pets. Some are charming and playful, others are more shy and reserved, but all are capable of hopping in to their owners’ hearts. Like hamsters and guinea pigs, these cute cottontails can be a wonderful option for a home that needs pets.
