Humane IQ for At-Risk Youth

Respect everyone. Act with integrity.
With the goal to expand empathy in high-risk areas, the Humane IQ for At-Risk Youth program for fifth and sixth-grade students teaches them to respect everyone and act with integrity. Students learn safe pet handling, interact with animals, spend time reading to shelter animals and share what they learned with their peers at an all-school assembly.
Teachers receive 60 lesson plans and resources to incorporate humane concepts into the curriculum. Every year, nearly 8,000 students participate at no cost to the students or the school districts.
