Meet some of the animals you helped rescue!

Polk County Rescues

We rescued 42 dogs from two separate properties. Dogs were chained, starving and forced to scavenge for food. Some were only a few days old.

Butters

Rescued as a kitten from the side of a busy road with an injured leg, Butters needed surgery to amputate her leg in order for her to survive.

Hazelwood Horses

Our team rescued 15 horses from a barn in Hazelwood. They were underweight, in pain and suffered from numerous infections and injuries.

Chanel

Chanel was born at the ranch after we rescued her mother, Fendi. Sadly, Fendi rejected Chanel at birth, so the Longmeadow team stepped in, caring for her day and night to ensure her survival.

Gasconade County Coonhounds

We rescued 22 neglected coonhound mixes that were suffering from severe parasite infestation and starvation. One dog had already died at the scene.

Maxwell

When Maxwell arrived at HSMO along with his sister, he was starving and so weak he could barely stand. His sister didn’t survive, but the team refused to give up on him.

Sanchez

We rescued 55 freezing, starving dogs including Sanchez, who was barely alive and severely malnourished. With care and treatment, Sanchez slowly began to heal.

Franklin County Chihuahuas

We rescued 36 Chihuahuas from dire conditions on a hoarder’s property. Malnourished and fearful, each dog needed its own recovery plan in order to survive.

Check back on February 4th to learn more about these animals!

Oscar & Bunny

Discarded like trash in the summer heat, two young pups were discovered just in time.
