Meet Celeste & Revlon

Celeste’s Story

When the call comes in, there’s no time to waste. Our Animal Cruelty Task Force loads up and heads out, often not knowing exactly what they will find, only that animals are in danger and need help now. That is exactly what happened in April, when more than 40 animals — including a six-month-old Alaskan Malamute named Celeste — were rescued from a life of severe neglect in Cedar County, Missouri. Celeste was emaciated. Her ribs, spine, and shoulder blades were visible. At just 24 pounds, far below what is healthy for a pup her age, she had a body condition score of just 2 out of 9. She needed immediate care to survive. And thanks to you, she received it. Today, Celeste is a spunky, playful puppy learning what it means to be loved. She is living proof of what your support makes possible.
Revlon’s Story

When Revlon stepped off the trailer at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, her condition stunned even our most seasoned team members. This emaciated and weak adult Missouri Fox Trotter was one of four starving horses rescued from a property in Fair Grove, Missouri. Her hooves were severely overgrown. She was covered in parasites. And at just 794 pounds, she was several hundred pounds underweight. But the moment Revlon arrived at Longmeadow, her healing journey began. Thanks to Leadership Circle members like you, Revlon has regained weight, rebuilt trust and rediscovered what it means to be safe. Her gentle spirit is returning and her future looks brighter than ever. She is living pain-free as a cherished pasture pet.
