The Humane Society of Missouri is waiving the adoption fees on their adult large dogs in October, in celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month.
“We have so many wonderful dogs in our shelter that would be perfect pets for individuals or families,” says Kathy Warnick, President of HSMO. “By waiving the adoption fees, we’re hoping to encourage potential adopters to come in and spend some time with a pup that may turn into the best friend they’ve ever had.”
What potential adopters need to know:
- This promotion is for adult dogs (9 months and older) over 35 pounds, and some exclusions may apply.
- All dogs will have been spayed or neutered and receive flea and tick preventatives before going to their new forever homes.
- Adopters also go home with a bag of PurinaOne® dog food.
- Adopters must be 18 years of age or older with a valid ID.
- Adopters must pay the $10 rabies tag fee charged by the City and County of St. Louis.
- Please be prepared to spend up to an hour at the shelter getting to know your potential pet and completing adoption forms.
- Please leave personal pets at home.
