Giving Tuesday | November 28, 2023

Join us on this national day of giving and rally support for the Humane Society of Missouri! With your help, we can make miracles happen for thousands of needy animals! And this year, our special friend Pam will match every donation made to HSMO, up to $50,000! Your Giving Tuesday gift will go twice as far to provide twice as many animals with safe shelter and compassionate care.

Hank
Our Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT) rescued Hank and 37 other puppies and dogs from an unlicensed puppy mill in Harrison County, Missouri. He was found crowded into a rusty crate with five of his siblings. They were filthy, covered with fleas, and suffering from bacterial infections. Since the puppies were too young to receive spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, they were sent into a foster home to rest and recover. Because they were given a second chance, now they can live happy lives filled with love and companionship!
Pineapple | Rescued Oct 2023
Pineapple
Pineapple was rescued from a life of cruelty and neglect by our Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT). This sweet yellow lab had been chained up and left to starve. She weighed a mere 48 pounds upon arrival at the shelter. Pineapple was carrying internal parasites and for weeks she struggled to gain weight. But after finding safe shelter and receiving medical attention at HSMO, she now has a second chance at a healthy and happy life!
Riddle | rescued 2023
Riddle
When Riddle arrived at our Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, he was hundreds of pounds underweight. In addition to being severely emaciated, he was suffering from rain rot, superficial skin wounds and parasites. He would require round-the-clock attention from our staff. But after months of loving, compassionate care, he made a full recovery! Now Riddle can look forward to a long, healthy life in a forever home. New boost
Paddington | rescued Oct 2023
Paddington
Paddington was one of 33 puppies and dogs transported to HSMO at the request of the National Mill Dog Rescue. He was suffering from an old injury and could not bear weight on his rear left leg. Our veterinarians determined the limb would need amputation, but first he required surgery to strengthen and heal his other rear leg. To support the best possible outcome, he received state-of-the-art medical treatment including water treadmill therapy. Thanks to this compassionate care, Paddington finally got his second chance!
