Meet the Post-Dispatch Pets of the Week!

Gizmo A666213

Hi, my name is Gizmo and my ID Number is A666213!

Gizmo is a wonderful two-year-old chocolate lab who is full of energy despite the fact that he only has three legs. Gizmo arrived at HSMO with a severe injury to his left rear leg, but that didn’t stop us from giving him the second chance he deserves! Losing a leg has not slowed Gizmo down – he’s still a happy-go-lucky guy, ready to play fetch and go on walks to explore his new neighborhood. Gizmo’s new family will need to make sure he stays at a healthy weight and that he doesn’t overdo it on his remaining rear leg so he can be a happy, healthy part of your family for many years to come!

To adopt, apply in person at HSMO’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights. Click here for hours and directions.

Rapunzel A666730

Hi, my name is Rapunzel and my ID# is A666730!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, your oh so soft hair! Unlike her namesake tower princess, this ravishing three-year-old tan rabbit would love a home where she will be kept safely indoors. She enjoys being front and center inside her enclosure, so she can keep a watchful eye on everyone passing by. Her human friends love to gently brush and touch her silky stunning coat. Come meet this curious and charming girl who will forever enchant your heart.

Albert A667145

Hi, my name is Albert and my ID Number is A667145!

Albert is a two-year-old Catahoula mix with striking eyes, unique markings, and a super sweet personality! The Catahoula is the state dog of Louisiana, which is fitting since Albert came to HSMO from a partner shelter there, hoping to find a forever home in St. Louis. It’s not just Albert’s tail that wags when he’s happy – it’s his whole body! He may also try to sneak a kiss or two from his human friends. Albert would love an active home with a family who will include him on all of their adventures.

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Click here for hours and directions.

Hi, my name is Betsy and my ID Number is A666150!

Heavens to Betsy! Who could resist this adorable face? Betsy is a 5-year-old Chihuahua who loves snuggling and giving kisses. She enjoys short walks, happily trotting up and down stairs without hesitation. This sweet girl’s tail wags excitedly when her human friends come around to visit. If you look closely, you may even see a few heart-shaped spots on her coat, making it even more difficult not to fall in love with this little lady.

Meet Chase, the Purina Pet of the Week!

Chase-A665444
Purina proudly feeds the animals of the Humane Society of Missouri

Hi, my name is Chase and my ID Number is A665444!

What’s in a name? Chase the kitten is ready to chase feathers, crinkle balls, toy mice, and any other toy you’ve got! He’s an active kitten who has been living in a volunteer foster home recently, so he’s got a head start on the basics of using the litter box and how to be a good kitty. Chase is just 16 weeks old, so he’ll want a family who will spend lots of time playing with him, cuddling him once he’s all tuckered out, and giving him the security of a loving, forever home.

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights. Click here for hours and directions.
