Meet the Post-Dispatch Pets of the Week!

Rose-A662369 (2)

Hi, my name is Rose and my ID Number is A662369!

Like the flower she’s named for, Rose is a sweet girl who has absolutely bloomed during her stay after receiving love and attention. Rose is a four-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who came to the Humane Society of Missouri with a severe skin condition and she was initially very nervous. With some veterinary care and plenty of TLC from staff and volunteers, Rose has recovered and in high spirits, always giving a playful wag of her crooked tail to all of her human friends. She seems to prefer to go to the bathroom outside, and will make an amazing companion for one lucky family!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Best Buddy Center in Maryland Heights. Click here for hours and directions.

Blaze-A662316

Hi, my name is Blaze and my ID Number is A662316!

Need a little extra help staying warm on the cold, winter nights? Meet Blaze! Blaze is a seven-month-old kitten with fur as white as snow and a personality with enough warmth that you might not need to move your thermostat. With his flame point markings and pale, blue eyes, Blaze is already exceptionally captivating. Start to pet him and get him purring, and there’s no doubt you’ll fall head over paws for him. He’d love to find a forever family that can provide him with lots of toys and a warm lap to cuddle in that he’ll never need to look far for. Blaze is sure to be an amazing feline friend!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Click here for hours and directions.

Chumley A655951

Hi, my name is Chumley and my ID Number is A655951!

If you’ve never seen a pig smile, then you need to meet Chumley! Chumley is a one-year-old Pot Bellied pig who’s everything you’ve ever looked for in a four-legged companion:  he’s friendly, loving, and will flop right over for a belly rub. His previous home remarked that he was house trained, crate trained, and knows how to ask to go outside for a break. Although he isn’t sure how to walk on a harness, he’s a very smart guy who could easily learn if you could bribe him with a few of his favorite treats. If you are looking for an indoor pig that would transition into your home easily, Chumley is the pig for you!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO. Click here for hours and directions.

Brenda is an adorable six-year-old Tricolor Beagle with floppy ears and a nose that’s sniffing out a new beginning before the New Year! While at the Humane Society of Missouri, Brenda has shown a preference for using the bathroom outside and she always walks gently on a leash.
