Meet the Post-Dispatch Pets of the Week!

Carter-A648810

Hi, my name is Carter and my ID Number is A648810!

Carter is an adorable three-year-old Californian rabbit – although she’s not literally from California, that’s just where her breed originated! She’s an absolute doll of a rabbit who enjoys coming to the front of her enclosure so she can keep a close eye on the world around her. Carter is used to living around other animals and has been well socialized with people – she really enjoys being petted on the top of her head and behind her long, velvety ears. While at the Humane Society of Missouri, Carter has shown a preference for using a litterbox and will make a wonderful addition to any family!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Best Buddy Center in Maryland Heights. Click here for hours and directions.

Buddy-A648716

Hi, my name is Buddy and my ID Number is A648716!

For your new best friend, check out Buddy! This eight-year-old Australian Cattle Dog is a seasoned professional who double majored in love and friendship while attending the doggie ‘School of Life’. Buddy weighs about fifty-eight pounds and has a handsome red-ticked coat that’s sure to turn heads while out on a walk and an outgoing personality that will win him friends wherever he goes. While at the Humane Society of Missouri, he’s shown a preference for using the bathroom outside and will make an excellent companion for one very lucky family!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Chesterfield Valley Center. Click here for hours and directions.

Diesel-A649481

Hi, my name is Diesel and my ID Number is A649481!

Handsome, athletic, and chatty are just a few of the adjectives we would use to describe Diesel. This six-month-old Siberian Husky puppy has ice-colored eyes and a liver-colored nose that’s always sniffing out his next adventure, even when he’s already on one! Diesel weighs about forty-four pounds and is all puppy – he needs an active home ready for training, socialization, and of course plenty of play time so he can grow to become a good canine citizen. If you’re in need of someone to keep up a ‘conversation’ with no matter where life takes you, Diesel is your dog!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Click here for hours and directions.

Starburst is a handsome Labrador Retriever and Border Collie mix with a shiny black coat and a personality just as sweet as your favorite candy. Starburst is a bit over a year old and weighs about forty-three pounds, so he’s the perfect size for keeping up with an active lifestyle while still being able to share a couch for some cuddling action afterward. Although he can be a bit shy at first with new people and situations, he’s incredibly smart and sure to win over everyone he meets with his stellar demonstrations of ‘sit’, ‘lay’. If you’re looking for a new best friend, look no further than Starburst!

Hi, my name is Atlas and my ID Number is A648867!

Atlas is a spunky one-year-old Domestic Longhaired kitty looking for a furrever family to call his own. He comes equipped with a flowing black and white coat and large, yellow eyes he’ll use to solicit treats and affection from his favorite humans. Atlas loves to be the center of attention, so he’s looking for a loving home without young children who wouldn’t mind this furry feline following them from room to room while he’s on the prowl for warm laps to sit on and friends who will gently pet his long fur. Atlas is a gorgeous and loving cat who can’t wait to be a part of your family!

Hi, my name is Mighty Joe and my ID Number is A649145!

Mighty Joe is a small Yorkshire Terrier mix who’s big in everything that counts – personality, friendliness, and especially love! With his puppy-dog looks and eagerly wagging tail, it’s no wonder why the staff and volunteers at HSMO’s Best Buddy Pet Center have fallen head over paws for this five-year-old pup. Mighty Joe only weighs about twelve pounds and while at the Humane Society of Missouri has shown a preference for using the bathroom outside, so he’s already the perfect best-friend ready for long walks, movie marathons, and lots of cuddling.
