Meet the Post-Dispatch Pets of the Week!

Bruno-A662738 (2)

Hi, my name is Bruno and my ID Number is A662738!

Are you ready to get knocked off your feet by someone tall, tan, and handsome? Then look no further than Bruno! Bruno is a one-year-old Great Dane mix who weighs in at just about seventy-pounds of puppy-love. Don’t let his giant size deceive you – he’s still considered a young dog and it shows with his energy and love of playtime. Bruno is also a very good doggie student and has learned to sit, lay down, stay, and will even give you his paw if you ask. He would love to find an active family to take him for long walks, hikes, and maybe even running!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Best Buddy Center in Maryland Heights. Click here for hours and directions.

Diesel-A661050

Hi, my name is Diesel and my ID Number is A661050!

If you look up ‘Good Boy’ in the dictionary, you might just find a photo of Diesel next to it! Diesel is a two-year-old Pit Bull Terrier with a soft, white coat, big, brindle spots, and a body that wiggles all over when he’s excited. Some of his favorite activities include helping to clear the yard of sticks, riding in a wheelbarrow, and watching TV! Although it seems like he can’t get any better, he does! Diesel seems to prefer to use the bathroom outside and can ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ when there’s a treat involved. This sweet and playful pup is best friend ready!

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Ave. Headquarters in St. Louis City. Click here for hours and directions.

Majestic Crown A644640

Hi, my name is Majestic Crown and my ID Number is A644640!

Majestic Crown is a beautiful, six-year-old Thoroughbred mare with a quick mind and athletic build. Although she was originally trained for racing, she was never entered into a race and has spent the last few years turned out to pasture. She is an intelligent and gorgeous lady and though she needs a refresher and restart from her race training, we are confident that she will come around quickly to enjoy a new career. The groundwork team at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch has been working with Majestic Crown, however, she requires her adoptive home provide further professional training. She will be an incredible addition to one lucky home.

To adopt: Apply in person at the Humane Society of Missouri’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO. Click here for hours and directions.

Hi, my name is Chance and my ID Number is A657340!

Sometimes the best things in life come by a lucky chance. And really, it doesn’t get any luckier than a  brindle pup named Chance! Chance is a two-year-old Beagle and Boxer mix who came to the Humane Society of Missouri seriously ill. After spending some time with the vet and a plenty of time with a loving foster family, Chance is now better than ever! He’s well adjusted to living the good life indoors with human friends, and seems to prefer to potty outside. Chance is also well behaved and will sit patiently while waiting to be leashed up for adventures. He’ll be an excellent companion for one lucky family!

Sarge is a handsome German Shepherd mix with a shorthaired, tricolor coat and pointy ears primed for listening to everything you say. He weighs nearly sixty-five pounds, but at just one year of age is still considered a puppy – he’s just a REALLY big puppy. Like most young dogs he loves to run and play, and if you hand him an antler to chew on you’ll have a best friend for life However he’s already showing signs that he’s going to be a great adult, and already has shown a preference for using the bathroom outside. If you’re looking for an energetic dog to keep up with your lifestyle, Sarge might just be the pup for you!
